Customer Service FAQ

I work hard for my money – why should I choose E-Auto?

E-Auto was founded by a family of young entrepreneurs with over 100 years of combined industry experience. With that experience comes power – the power to offer you the industry’s best warranty protection plans designed to fit any household budget.

When can I use my warranty?

All protection plans begin 30 calendar days from the date of purchase. Why the wait? Our 30-day hold ensures that your vehicle is free of pre-existing conditions so that we can provide you with the best customer care nationwide.

Can I use my regular repair shop?

Yes. You may take your vehicle to any licensed repair shop of your choice.  Don't have a regular repair shop that you use? No worries. We will be happy to set you up with a preferred repair shop in your area or refer you to one of the many national brand-name repair shop partners to ensure you are properly taken care.

How long is the claims process?

The speed of each claim depends on the size of the repair, labor time, and the availability of the parts needed. However, we strive to process each claim as fast as we can and ensuring you are kept up to speed along the way. If you would like additional information about our Rental Reimbursement Program or our Trip Interruption Program, please call us at 1-888-219-9553.

Can I cancel my warranty?

We like taking care of people – it’s what we do. But, if you wish to cancel your warranty, you may request to cancel at any time and an E-Auto team member will walk you through the cancellation process for your specific warranty coverage.

I'm selling my car. Can I transfer my warranty onto my next vehicle?

Warranty price and eligibility is determined by each vehicle's year, make, model, and mileage at the time of sale. This means that your warranty stays with the specific vehicle that it was sold for and can be transferred to the vehicle’s next owner; adding additional resale value to your vehicle!

How do I contact my 24/7 Roadside Assistance?

To contact our 24/7 Roadside Assistance, dial 1-800-278-4690 (Code: 85362, Plan “U”) and provide the operator with your Membership ID Number.

What does my warranty cover?

Our protection plans are designed to provide you full transparency and disclosure as to exactly what your warranty covers at the time of sale. Each policy that we sell is designed as a “stated component coverage” warranty. What does that contract jargon mean? Simply, if a component is listed as covered under your warranty plan – it’s covered.

Is my protection plan insured with E-Auto?

All E-Auto warranty plans are fully insured by the same insurance carrier that backs some of the biggest names in the tech and automotive industries.

How do I file a claim?

If your vehicle is safe to drive, simply take it to any licensed repair shop to have your vehicle diagnosed. If your vehicle is unsafe to drive, please contact 24/7 Roadside Assistance at 1-855-278-4690 (Producer Code: 85362, Plan “U”) to have your vehicle towed to the repair shop. Once your vehicle is diagnosed, have your repair shop call us directly at 1-888-219-9553 to initiate a new claim. The repair shop may also initiate a new claim by filling out our online claims form directly on the website.

Who pays the repair shop?

E-Auto will pay your repair shop directly via check or credit card over-the-phone.

Why do warranty companies receive so many bad reviews?

It takes one bad egg to spoil the dozen. Unfortunately, some warranty companies trick consumers by overcharging them for a warranty and misinforming them as to what is covered under their policy at the time of sale. The sole purpose of creating E-Auto is to ensure that every potential customer understands exactly what comes with their warranty plan and how to use it.

Do I really need a warranty?

Do you really need car insurance? The answer is – yes! Statistically, you are three times more likely to experience a major mechanical failure than you are to experience a major auto collision. The purpose of a warranty works just like your insurance – pay small portions month by month to protect you from taking a huge chunk out of your saving when you need a repair.

What is a VIN and where can I find it?

VIN is the acronym for “Vehicle Identification Number” – the unique number assigned to your specific vehicle from the manufacturer. An easy way to find your VIN number is to stand outside of your driver’s side door and your VIN can be found on the corner of the dash board where it meets your window. Your VIN can also be located on your vehicle’s insurance card.
